The name HADESS draws from Hades, the Greek god who ruled the unseen realm beneath the surface. In cybersecurity, the most critical work happens beneath the surface too — defending what others cannot see, uncovering hidden threats, and building resilience in the dark.
HADESS is a platform built for those who operate in that space. Since 2018, we have been building the tools, content, and community that cybersecurity practitioners need to advance their careers.
From Content to Platform
In 2018, two cybersecurity practitioners started HADESS because they could not find a single place that mapped the skills you actually need, showed clear growth paths, and connected theory to practice. So they built one.
It started with content: guides, training materials, curated reading lists, all shared openly. A community formed around it. Learners became contributors, contributors became collaborators, and what began as a side project grew into something much bigger.
By 2022, the team had published research on how people actually learn technical skills effectively, studying the cognitive science behind spaced repetition, testing effects, interleaving, and elaboration. Those principles were built directly into the platform.
In 2023, AI was integrated to personalize the experience at scale. In 2024, the full platform launched. Today, HADESS Career Coach has 490+ mapped skills, 390+ career paths, 270+ curated books, and a growing community of professionals using it daily to advance their careers.
